Hyundai Announce New Partnership with Carlton Football Club
Hyundai will be a joint major sponsor of the Carlton Football Club for the next three years in a key partnership announced today. Hyundai will join Optus as the joint major sponsors of the Carlton Football Club in 2008.
Carlton CEO, Mr Greg Swann, said the association with Hyundai was an excellent partnership for both the Carlton Football Club and Hyundai and would play an important role in further building the Hyundai brand in Australia.
"We are delighted with our new association with Hyundai in what is a significant commitment by both organisations. Hyundai is committed to quality and to grow the brand for greater success and this is very similar to our own objectives," Swann said.
"Importantly Hyundai is also committed to supporting environmental initiatives and is placing increasing emphasis on the Research and Development of environmental priorities. This supports the Carlton Football Club objective to become the AFL's greenest club through a number of environmental friendly initiatives."
In addition to joint major sponsorship that will see the Hyundai logo on the Carlton guernsey (front for home games and back for away games), Hyundai will be the official coach sponsor of the Carlton Football Club as well as Carlton's official car sponsor, providing excellent exposure for the Hyundai brand.
"For Hyundai this sponsorship is intended to focus on Melbourne, but have national reach. And what better way to do that than with the iconic Carlton Football Club," said Kevin McCann, Director – Sales & Marketing, Hyundai Motor Company Australia.
"This is not just a sponsorship, it is a partnership, aligning two iconic brands in Hyundai and Carlton."
"In Australia AFL is both a major participation sport across all age groups and keenly supported by Hyundai dealers and customers. Carlton is a club with a long and proud tradition and Hyundai has traditionally enjoyed a successful partnership with Carlton," McCann continued.

This is not the first partnership between Carlton and Hyundai. Hyundai was the major sponsor of the Carlton Football Club between 1995 and 1999, enjoying a very successful first season with the Blues resulting in an AFL Premiership.
"We would be delighted if the on field success enjoyed in Hyundai's first year as Carlton's major sponsor was repeated in 2008," Greg Swann said with optimism at the announcement.
