Passive safety
Passive safety features protect occupants in the event of an accident. Passive safety extends to the structure of the vehicle which plays an integral role in offering occupant protection.
Our approach to passive safety
Hyundai Motor Company is the only manufacturer in the world who owns their own steel blast furnace allowing ultimate control over the raw materials which are used to create their vehicles.
Chassis design, reinforced cabin shells, front and rear crumple zones and bumpers, air bags, side intrusion beams and roll over bars all offer increased chance of survival and increased injury minimisation rates in the event of an unfortunate incident.
Passive safety features include; active head restraints, retractable three-point seatbelts, seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters, roll over sensors, frontal and side-impact airbags, roof-mounted side-curtain airbags and Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) child-seat anchors.
