Drive's like a European car. A game changer for Hyundai in my opinion.
Honestly can't think of any.

Very feature packed. The seats are great and the air conditioned seats make a long drive very comfortable.
Very little road noise.
Interior comes across as being a bit too plasticy.

Real step up in technology. Great infotainment system. Dash design gives a spacious feel. Comfort of seats. Good headroom for a 6 footer even in a higher seating position. Quiet for a diesel. Ride comfort over rough roads.
Generally a great car to drive with a nice feel to be in.
Front end design is quite bland. Looks like a 3-5 year old Audi. No full size spare in SR.

I was driving the new i30 Active model which I was impressed by the Sa Nav as standard and the voice was clear. Also, the Rear view parking camera was so good that it showed the parking angle in blue line on the parking yellow line. The engine was quiet in freeway.
the gear box is not impressed compared to runout i30 model. The plastic top handle makes the new i30 imperfect.

the turbo diesel has plenty of torque and the radar sat nav is excellent
the sound of the blinkers is annoying and there could be more shopping hooks in the hatch area

The car represents excellent value for money and has all the features you would want.
It is a little less refined than I expected (i.e. engine noise was noticeable).

The autonomous braking feature is amazing and a great extra safety feature. Auto park, the cruise lock on system, heated / cool seats, isofix compatibility, wifi phone charging and the navigation that works without you phone is fantastic.
I personally loved it, it was so intuitive and everything was right at hand

Love the new exterior design, simple yet practical. Very well done with hiding the cameras and front sensing sonar/radar. Being 189cm tall (pushing 6 foot 3), i found the interior to be very roomy and comfortable. Love the boot space and the thoughtful inclusion of the power sockets in the back because I mount my dashcams both front and back. The air vents are a nice touch but I can live without it, but the iso fix, booster seat hooks, automatic window down to let the hot air out are all really good touches.
Not a deal breaker, but the only thing, and probably the main concern is the missing stop-start technology. It's a big factor nowadays especially for a car that is mainly driven in the city. Although it's impressive to learn that the 1.6litre turbo engine will be happy with the regular unleaded fuel but I wouldn't put anything under 98 octanes which I do to my current i30. Regardless, would really like to see this included in the "facelift" or the next model.

Would have liked a bit more power/kick on the SR model

The SR version is packed with technological features and feels like you are driving a luxury car 🚗
I think despite looking great and with a modern design, the SR could have looked a bit more aggressive. Maybe a bulging body kit and different air intakes.

The safety features are impressive and in time I can see them included in all models. Safety is paramount as most accidents are not the drivers fault. Too frequently it is the other vehicle at fault.
Personal opinion. I would like to see the lip on the boot replaced by a flat entry as on the Estate. A small point but it would make it easier to remove heavy objects.

The info-tainment centre is great, while the I30's comfort, smoothness and refinement are standouts. It's hard to fault the overall package. The new I30 is a worthy successor to that which has been so popular with Australian motorists.
Nothing I didn't like. but my personal preference for styling would be for something more adventurous, even though the overall appearance is still very attractive.
