Performance

• 2.4 CVVT Petrol or 2.5 CRDi Turbo Diesel Engine

  

  iMax offers two engine variants. The 2.4 litre Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) petrol engine (which is coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission) is hard working and very reliable. It features multi-point fuel injection, double overhead camshafts with four valves per cylinder and produces 129 kW of power and 228 Nm of torque.
  
  The 2.5 litre CRDi turbo Diesel engine, six-speed manual, delivers 100 kW of power and 343 Nm of torque and is also available in a five-speed automatic, delivering 125 kW of power and 441 Nm of torque. This breakthrough Diesel engine is fuel-efficient and delivers a low CO2 output.

• Suspension

  

  iMax has MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension delivering a smooth and compliant driving experience for driver and passengers. This system provides improved ride and rigidity while allowing additional room in the rear luggage space.

Safety

• ACTIVE SAFETY

  

  The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) enhances safety under emergency braking situations by preventing your brakes from locking up and distributing braking force according to your vehicle’s load.
  
  Similarly, in an emergency manoeuvre, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) helps keep iMax on track, while Hyundai’s Traction Control System (TCS) monitors your grip, reducing wheel spin so that you can accelerate on slippery or uneven road surfaces*.
  
  *ESC and TCS are standard on CRDi models only.

• 4-WHEEL DISC BRAKES

  

  With disc brakes all round and standard four-channel, four-sensor Anti-Skid Braking System (ABS) across the range, iMax can be brought to a stop, fast.
  
  Front rotors are 300 mm in diameter, ventilated with two-piston callipers and pad wear warning indicators the rear, single-piston callipers clamp 320 mm disc rotors with an integral drum-in-hat parking brake system. Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) provides for minimisation of braking distance by forcing braking bias to front or rear brakes depending on the load weight and distribution.

• Semi-bonnet Design

  

  iMax sports a true semi-bonnet design, with the engine situated at the front of the cabin similar to that of a passenger car. Not only does this improve access for servicing but also offers significant improvements in crash protection.

• Body Integrity

  

  Superior core body integrity is delivered via a four-ring body structure with reinforced cross members and floor panels. The semi-bonnet design allows for the additional benefit of frontal crumple zones for impact absorption similar to those also on the rear. Impact intrusion bars are also built into the front doors for added safety.

• DUAL AIRBAG PROTECTION & SEATBELT PRETENSIONERS

  

  For extra protection, iMax is fitted with dual front SRS airbags as standard. These help shield and protect the driver and front passenger from head and chest injury in the events of a severe collision. The front seats are also fitted with retractable three-point seatbelts with pretensioners (centre seat is a lap belt) that automatically tighten the belt in preparation for airbag deployment.
  
  The Airbag system is linked with the airbag module and seatbelt pretensioner, which operates immediately after receiving a signal from impact sensors in the front bumper.

• Keyless Entry & Central Locking System

  

  Keyless entry not only makes it easier to lock and unlock the vehicle, it also activates or deactivates iMax’s burglar alarm.
