Hyundai Advanced Apprenticeship Academy.

To ensure we continue to provide the best customer service, we train our people to the highest level. The education and training of our Hyundai technicians is the foundation of Hyundai Customer Service. Our training commences with apprentices through the Hyundai Advanced Apprentice Academy.

The pathway to be a Hyundai Technician commences as an apprentice technician with at one of 170 dealers across the country. This is a four year apprenticeship (AUR30616 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology) requiring attendance at an Registered Training Organisation (RTO). As HMCA is an RTO (RTO Code: 91394), we are licensed to deliver this nationally recognised qualification to Hyundai apprentices at our regional training academies in QLD, NSW, VIC & WA.

Factory-trained technicians are the experts in the care and maintenance of Hyundai vehicles. The Hyundai Advanced Apprentice Academy provides the opportunity to teach apprentices in a structured learning environment together with programs to develop diagnostic skills using the latest equipment available. This creates highly skilled technicians of the future as our aim is for all apprentices to develop the knowledge and attain the skills to deliver the highest quality customer service in the industry. Qualifications

HAAA delivers 2 qualifications AUR30616 - Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and AUR20218 Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology. These are nationally accredited qualifications, which involve a competency-based assessment process.

These qualifications reflect the role of Apprentices who will perform a broad range of tasks on a variety of light vehicles in the automotive retail, service and repair industry. It provides the required knowledge and skills for Apprentices to carry out work activities autonomously and takes responsibility for their own work.

This is a 4 Year Apprenticeship – 3 years (part time) off the job training at HAAA (1228 hours) combined with on the job training + 1 additional year on the job training. You will be given full support to help you successfully complete this program.

When Apprentices complete this program, they will have the confidence and knowledge to work on a broad range of light vehicle components and systems.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must be employed by a Hyundai dealer as a 1st year Light Vehicle Apprentice. Apprentices working for dealers under a Group Training Organisation (GTO) are also eligible for enrolment. Candidates are required to complete a set of standardised assessments to measure reading, comprehension, mathematical and mechanical reasoning skills. Candidates will also have an informal one on one interview with an HAAA Trainer.

Employer Requirements

As part of the enrollment process, the employer will be required to sign a declaration agreeing to provide adequate opportunities in the workplace for the Apprentice to apply and practice the skills outlined in the qualification. Employers our to assist their Apprentice in gaining the skills he/she needs by providing the opportunity for them to work on a number of varied projects with other qualified staff or Apprentice mentors.

Teaching Modes

The Hyundai Advanced Apprentice Academy is structured to deliver face-to-face training and provide Apprentices with advanced learning and development programs, creating the expertly skilled Apprentices of the future. Apprentices attending our training facilities are exposed to a range of training methods including trainer presentations, observation of the apprentice, theory assessments, task sheets, work logbook evidence and simulated role plays.

This program will provide and prepare, Apprentices who will perform tasks and learn in areas from workplace safety and equipment and gain hands on experience in areas from servicing and repairing the mechanical parts of Hyundai vehicles such as engine, transmission (clutch, gear box and differential), suspension systems (springs, steering, braking systems), repair and service cooling systems, engines to petrol fuel systems, air conditioning, emission control systems, clutch assemblies, manual and automatic transmissions, electrical systems and final drive assemblies.

Trainers and Resources

Experienced Trainer/Assessors, who are experts in the field, will guide the Apprentice through the program, which involves a combination of practical study and theory that is assessed at the end of each unit of competency. All our trainers maintain a high level of currency within VET and Industry. We encourage our Apprentices to be actively involved in the learning process and make the most of their time with our highly experienced and knowledgeable trainers.

The training team work closely with the dealer network and builds a supportive hand on approach with modern techniques. This helps create an inclusive learning environment that is backed up by a strong sense of ownership that builds on the Apprentice’s skill sets and helps guide the Apprentice through their journey.

Our HAAA state-of-the-art facilities are equipped with Hyundai test equipment, tools, machinery, tablets, smartboards and current Hyundai model vehicles. With professional training and support, you'll enjoy learning at Hyundai Advanced Apprentice Academy.
