6th January 2015 - Hyundai Motor Company Australia has finished 2014 in fourth position in the overall sales ranking, with a record 100,011 units sold and 9.0% market share, an increase of +0.5% over 2013. Hyundai also finished in second place for the year in passenger car sales, ahead of Mazda, Holden, Honda and Volkswagen, with 71,213 units sold, equating to a 13.4% market share, and an increase of +1.4% YOY.

Overall for 2014, of the top nine selling automotive brands in the Australian market, only Hyundai increased its sales year-on-year (+3.1% sales growth), and was the best performer of the top ten brands for the period. Furthermore of the top five selling brands, only Hyundai has demonstrated six years' consecutive volume growth.

Total year-end sales saw two Hyundai models, i20 and ix35, achieve first place rankings for their respective segments. In addition a further four models achieved podium finishes with Veloster, iMax and iLoad all attaining second place, and i30 taking third place.

December saw Hyundai achieve sales of 7,657 units, with the result placing the brand fourth overall in the Australian market, equating to a 7.9% market share. Hyundai’s passenger car sales of 5,743 units placed the brand in second position with a 12.7% market share.

Hyundai placed first in the Small SUV <$40k segment with ix35, while sales of i20 and Accent combined in the Light segment to achieve the top spot for the month. Hyundai achieved podium results across four other segments in December, with iMax and iLoad finishing in second place in their respective segments while combined sales of i30 and Elantra saw Hyundai finish in 2nd place in the Small segment.

The ix35 continued to dominate the competitive Small SUV <$40k segment with ix35 achieving total sales for the month of 1,197 units and a segment share of 17.7%.

Hyundai continues to be the number one selling marque in the competitive Light <$25k segment with combined sales of i20 (918 units) and Accent (611 units) achieving a total 1,529 units sold in December, achieving a 16.8% segment share. This was the 11th consecutive month Hyundai has led this segment.

· Light Cars <$25k: i20 ranked first with sales of 14,979 units and a segment share of 14.4%, while Accent ranked 7th with sales of 7,561 units and a segment share of 7.3%

· Small Cars <$40k: i30 ranked 3rd with sales of 31,505 units and a segment share of , 13.5% while Elantra ranked 9th with sales of 8,779 units and a segment share of 3.8%

· Medium <$60k: i40 ranked 5th with sales of 2,684 units and a segment share of 5.4%

· Large <$70k: Genesis ranked 6th with sales of 163 units and a segment share of 0.4%

· SUV Small <$40k: ix35 ranked first with sales of 17,922 units sold and a segment share of 22.2%

· SUV Large <$70k: Santa Fe ranked 8th with sales of 6,532 units and a segment share of 6.1%

· Sports Cars <$80k: Veloster ranked 2nd with sales of 3,405 units and a segment share of 23.0%

People Movers <$55K: iMax ranked 2nd with sales of 2,137 units and a segment share of 22.3%
· Van/CC 2.5-3.5t: iLoad ranked 2nd with sales of 4,344 units and a segment share of 27.3%

· Light Cars <$25k: Hyundai ranked first in the segment with combined sales of i20 (918 units) and Accent (611 units) achieving sales of 1,529 units and a combined market share of 16.8%

· Small Cars <$40k: Hyundai ranked 2nd with combined sales of i30 (2,828 units) and Elantra (772 units) achieving 3,600 units and a combined segment share of 18.2%

· Medium <$60k: i40 ranked 6th with sales of 149 units and 3.4% segment share

· Large <$70k: Genesis ranked 4th with sales of 66 units and 1.9% segment share

· SUV Small <$40k: ix35 ranked first with sales of 1,197 units and 17.7% segment share

· SUV Large <$70k: Santa Fe ranked 9th with sales of 444 units and 4.7% segment share

· Sports Cars <$80k: Veloster ranked 2nd with sales of 212 units and 17.6% segment share

· People Movers <$60K: iMax ranked 2nd with sales of 187 units and 23.3% segment share

· Van/CC 2.5-3.5t: iLoad ranked 2nd with sales of 273 units and 22.9% segment share

Hyundai Motor America reported record December sales of 64,507 units sold for the month an increase of +2.0% over the same record setting period in 2013. Star performers were Santa Fe and Tucson (sold as ix35 in Australia) up +21.5% and +13% respectively, while the all-new Sonata and Genesis sedans saw sales increases for the month of December up 24 and 17 percent, respectively.

Hyundai Motor America finished its fifth consecutive year of record U.S. sales up over the previous year, and totalling 725,718 units sold in 2014.
