Why Hyundai?

Because our drivers are the happiest. We’re number one in the independent JD Power sales satisfaction survey for mass car brands in Australia (2017).

Our incredible journey.

From humble beginnings to global top 5 motor group.

Determined to keep fearlessly moving forward, we’ve come a long way in 50 short years.

1967. Just starting out.

In 1967, the world’s first Hyundai (Hyundai Pony) rolls off the production line in Korea – and a new automobile brand is born.

Since then, we’ve grown into a global powerhouse - with manufacturing and design centres worldwide, and dedicated luxury and performance divisions. As a top 5 global motor group, and the 3rd largest car manufacturer in Australia, we now also rank in the top 35 brands globally (Intebrand).

And we make more than you might expect. Robots, army tankers and freight ships are just some of the hundreds of diverse products that also proudly wear the Hyundai badge.

2019. Driven to become the world’s most-loved car brand.

We’re forging a reputation built on our commitment to quality and our belief that premium features and service shouldn’t come with a luxury price tag.

From the quality of our materials – like the Australian iron ore used in our ultra-high tensile steel - to the generous aftercare and customer support we offer all Hyundai car owners, we understand that to be the most loved, we need to be exceptional in everything we do.

Commitment to quality.

  • Safer steel.

    Safer steel.

Safety is our highest priority so it’s essential that we have complete trust in the steel we use in our vehicles.

Which is why we source iron-ore from right here in Australia. And why Hyundai Motor Group is the only car manufacturer to operate its own steel mills; three in fact. This gives us unique control over the integrity of our cars safety.

  • Around the world innovation.

    Around the world innovation.

Our cars are a careful product of scientists, designers and engineers from around the world. From our Korean technical precision, to our European luxury influence, we’re working together to deeply understand our markets, reach better solutions and keep our thinking fresh.

Not only is our Korean plant the largest integrated automobile plant in the world, we also operate research and manufacturing centres in the US, Germany Brazil, China, India, Turkey, Czech Republic and Russia.

A bit of Australia in every car.

Our cars are more Australian than you might think. That’s because the majority of iron ore we use to make our ultra-high tensile steel comes from right here in Australia.

Australian tuned suspension.

At Hyundai, we believe in delivering a dynamic and comfortable car for all Australians.

Leading the journey to zero.

We’re leading the charge for a cleaner tomorrow. One in which our planet and future generations can breathe more freely as vehicles use smarter, more sustainable technology that do not release a single emission.

As the only manufacturer to offer a full line-up of green technology vehicles from a single platform, we’re preparing for the day when all vehicles are eco-friendly. As part of this, we’re cutting our carbon footprint and improving fuel efficiency by 25% (comparing 2015 to 2020).

  • Reduce air pollution.

  • Reduce CO2 emissions.

  • Reduce energy consumption.

  • IONIQ.

    IONIQ.

  • Fuel Cell.

    Fuel Cell.

We believe in a future powered by hydrogen fuel cells. Emitting nothing but pure, clean water, they offer higher fuel efficiency and far quicker refuelling times than electric cars.

At Hyundai, we’re working to make these an everyday reality by working closely with government infrastructure initiatives here in Australia and around the world.

  • Sustainability

    Sustainability

We aim to leave our planet in a healthier state by investing in cleaner science. By constantly developing new, green technology to power our plants and processes, we’re showing how serious we are about reducing our carbon footprint.

What if? It’s the little question we use to challenge our existing thinking and arrive at big, never-thought-possible places.

  • Smart cars.

    Smart cars.

We’re predicting that by 2030, cars will be so smart they won’t need steering wheels. Already, we’re trialling level 4 autonomous driving which uses GPS and wireless technology to take the wheel for you. And this is just the start.
