Genesis is driving Australian Golf

Genesis is a major partner of amateur and professional golf in Australia. This includes the Emirates Australian Open, the ISPS Handa Australian Women’s Open, and also the Genesis Golf Link Cup.

The Emirates Australian Open

The highlight of Australia’s golfing calendar is the Emirates Australian Open, where Genesis is the Official Vehicle Partner. In November 2016 , Australians Ashley Hall and Cameron Smith found themselves locked in a three-way play-off with none other than American superstar, Jordan Spieth, at The Royal Sydney Golf Club.

The excitement was mesmerising, but Spieth needed just one sudden death hole on the 18th to remind us of his brilliance. The world No. 6 made it look easy as he stole the Championship title with a 15-foot birdie.

It is safe to say that the 2017 Emirates Australian Open, at The Australian Golf Club, will also shape up as a memorable golfing event, with Spieth indicating he is likely to return for his third shot at the Championship trophy.

The ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open

The ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open was equally as dramatic at the Royal Adelaide Golf Club in February.

In a rollercoaster final round during which no fewer than five players held or shared the lead, South Korean Ha Na Jang unleashed a closing salvo that will long be remembered by the galleries in Adelaide and TV audience around the world.

Jang hadn’t made a birdie in almost three hours on a day of trying, gusty winds as the overnight leaders imploded and left 17 people within three shots of the lead as birdies became a rare commodity.
But in a truly incredible final hour from the 13th hole, the effervescent 24-year-old from Seoul went birdie-birdie-par-par-eagle-birdie to close out a remarkable back-nine 31 that simply left the field in her wake.

Moments like this deliver the exhalation that only live sport can bring to tens of thousands of fans, and Genesis is extremely proud to be a partner of such elite sport in Australia.

The Genesis Golf Link Cup

Away from the golfing elite, Genesis is also the headline sponsor of the world’s largest golf leaderboard. Over 98,000 club golfers in Australia compete in this event for free, scoring points just by playing their regular club golf. Any Golf Link member that registers and plays at least six rounds has the opportunity to win a brand new luxurious Genesis - and dozens of other prizes are also at stake: Callaway gear, GolfBox discount vouchers, golfing holiday vouchers and more.

The most improved 8 golfers from each series will play off in a ‘real-world’ final at one of Sydney’s premier championship courses in November. The 16 finalists will also enjoy a VIP experience, courtesy of Genesis, at the Emirates Australian Open final at The Australian golf club. What are you waiting for?
